Culture Talk with Rev. CJ Conner

Apr 28, 2018

Dodge City Kansas is quickly earning the reputation as the suicide capitol of the Southwest with more than twice the national rate of suicides and a failed anemic response to the epidemic.

Other towns can learn what NOT to do when faced with a widespread suicide crisis by studying and learning about how Dodge City authorities, leaders, and particularly pastors and churches have responded.

Rev. CJ Conner speaks about the risks of emotional juxtapositioning and mirroring in responding to suicide with a culture of death instead of a culture of life.

He also speaks about the Christians of the platitude, and how the  disembodied words so often used by Christians are unhelpful, dangerous, and typical.
